Clinical and Molecular Comparative Study of Colorectal Cancer Based on Age-of-onset and Tumor Location In Europe, colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer in males, the second most common cancer in females, and the fourth most common cause of cancer-related deaths; worldwide, 1,360,000 new cases are diagnosed each year and it causes [...]

Dr. José Perea García gave a lecture on february 26 in Milan, entitled: Early-onset colorectal cancer on a rise: the new epidemic, putative associated factors and molecular characteristics, (El cáncer colorrectal de inicio temprano está en aumento: la nueva epidemia, los posibles factores asociados y las características moleculares), about the challenges that the increase in [...]
1st International Symposium on Early-Onset Colorrectal Cancer I am glad to present one of the important projects that we hope to launch this year 2019. In this case it is the 1st International Symposium on Early- Onset Colorectal Cancer, which will take place on June 6 in Madrid, and which I have the privilege [...]
"Early onset of colorectal cancer on a rise: the new epidemic, putative associated factors and molecular characteristics" Dr. José Perea Garcia has been invited to give the next lecture in February 26, entitled "Early onset of colorectal cancer on a rise: the new epidemic, putative associated factors and molecular characteristics", about the characteristics and important [...]
Dr. José Perea García has been invited to participate in a new edition at the 5th annual Colorectal Cancer Summit in young adults in May of 2019, that will take place at New York, USA. In which the knowledge about this type of cancer will be updated, as well as the strategies for its [...]
Comment on 'Wild-type APC prediction of poor prognosis in microsatellite-stable proximal colorectal cancer differs according to the age of onset' Taking as the starting point the work by Jorissen et al (2015), we have analysed the same aspects, but applying an age of onset criterion, and compared a total of 56 cases of EOCRC [...]
We identify the features of multiple primary colorectal cancer (MPCC), synchronous colorectal cancer (SCRC) and metachronous colorectal cancer (MCRC), and distinguish between the cases that require a more extensive surgery and those where the parameters of SCRC might be important to prevent the development of MCRC. [...]
To analyze the possible clonal origin of a part of Synchronous colorectal cancer (SCRC), we studied 104 paired-SCRCs from 52 consecutive patients without hereditary forms of CRC. We used a Single-Nucleotide Polymorphism array to characterize the genomic profiles, and subsequently used a statistical application to define them according to clonality within the same individual. [...]
Clinical and functional characterization of the CDH1 germline variant c.1679C>G in three unrelated families with hereditary diffuse gastric cancer Germline changes in the CDH1 tumor suppressor gene predispose to diffuse gastric cancer and lobular breast cancer. In carriers of deleterious germline CDH1 variants, prophylactic gastrectomy is recommended. In case of germline missense variants, it is [...]
